One of my new year’s resolutions (I think it was actually the only one I made and it came to me as a thought more than a resolution) was that this summer I would be putting away my young-boyish-look and become a feminine-young-lady!!!
Even to me this brings thoughts of L.K. Bennett’s bright flowery dresses, but no, I didn’t go quite that far… I did make a point on buying dresses mostly (although they are all black and grey, there’s one bright blue) but I still sneaked in the odd comfy t-shirt for the weekend…
Now… the biggest change, and this has to do with me not being able to keep my mouth shut, and telling one of my friends and work colleagues (we work in fashion, she’s a hairdresser!!!) that I actually buy my make up online, meaning - INTERNET!!!
To her, the fact that I actually don’t enjoy the process of buying make up in a shop was absolutely unheard of, and certainly not the kind of thing a 25 years old female would do… so she decided to take me and show me how to buy make up, we made a date… at least that’s what I thought until she called me to inform me that she had actually made a full appointment at one of the make up brands that as soon as you hear it you think - there goes my budget!
So I went! I must say it was quite a nice and fun experience! How could it not be?! 30 minutes having someone putting make up on you and just telling you how nice your face is, and your eye-lashes are really long and amazing, so on and so on (of course I take theses things with a pinch of salt same way I take guys on the first few dates… people always tend to tell you what you want to hear, especially if they are trying to ’sell’ something!) Anyway, the result was really good. I looked natural, not one of those monkey girls you see so often who obviously didn’t use a mirror while doing their make up, but I actually looked girly and fresh, so I was very pleased and the result was a huge bill!
Celebration was in order and we went to a really nice wine bar just by Victoria. Quiet place at the time and there I spot a really cute/hot guy looking back at me (I mean literally looking back as he did it when he was leaving!).
So now I have another problem: was it me, or the maked-up-me? See? You just can’t win!!!
